Friday, November 18, 2011 - Sunday, January 29, 2012 Travel back in time this holiday season with old-fashioned Christmas decorations like antique German feather trees trimmed with ornaments and surrounded by toys from earlier generations.
NEW for this year are visual treats from the century in which the former Taft house was inhabited (1820-1931). Included is an intricate Christmas village composed of many houses and inhabited by small lead figures, a tree with Russian paper and glass ornaments representing Russian fairy tales, a miniature Santa's toy shop, a Tudor-style dollhouse, a tree bearing American-made World War II ornaments, a display of early wooden Jack-in-the-box toys, a collection of wire-wrapped blown-glass ornaments and a tree decorated with antique paper dolls.
Festive greenery will deck the halls and exterior of the house, and the dining room will be set for the holidays with sparkling china, crystal, and silver.
The museum also offers FREE admission on Sundays!
